During her time at university, she had numerous experiences with the at times grave problems faced by children living in foster homes. Her creativity and ability to tell stories enabled her to help these children in seemingly hopeless situations to deal with their everyday problems as well lighten their moods and bring joy into their lives.
The experience she gained during that period helped her a great deal later on in life and was invaluable in her profession as a teacher.
In recent years she has begun to put her stories to paper and publish them in English and German.
